Early in 2023, I began using Midjourney to imagine video game arcade machines. It started as an exercise to get comfy with the nuances of prompting in a wide variety of subjects and styles, but the concept of a wild arcade filled with the most bizarre video games from across infinite universes soon emerged, and generating more and more designs became addictive. GenAI can give you a solid foundation, but the results still aren’t good enough to be considered ‘finished’ straight out of the prompt box. I generated names and game ideas based on the images and created gameplay screenshots and logos for each cabinet before bringing them to life with Runway and After Effects. This video is a compilation of just a handful of the thousands of games I’ve generated over the past 2 years. Which game would you play first?
